County Sligo… Sure its a bitta craic

Hoi hoi!!

Sooo me and the girlfriend spent the 12th and 13th of this month in Sligo to celebrate the cringey valentines day(bleuuuuuuuuuuuuugh). We stayed at the Best Western Hotel which in itself was nice bar a few things.

The first night we got down early. I was starving and was disappointed to learn that they didn’t do room service 😦

However, the food that I eventually walked and got was indeed lovely :). We had dinner in the hotel that night. I had a soup, with a chicken pasta dish and profiteroles for dessert. Of course a couple of Bulmers Lights thrown in there too ;). The food was in fact lovely and the restaurant had a lovely setting.

The second day and night was more fun. We tried out the leisure centre where I ended stuck in a pool with about 20 kids who were all getting swimming lessons :s. The pool wasn’t that big so needless to say things were a little awkward. I tried out the gym which is TINY but did the job. We had food in the bar that night while watching the UTD and Real Madrid game which took an hour to come out. All I had ordered was a streak sandwich.

We ended up having drinks in the room then heading to a nightclub called Pure which infact was a great night. We went to a “shag tag” party. Everyone is given a number and then they can see what others are saying about them the next day on facebook and twitter.

Being the only two oddballs in the club we decided to have fun with the locals pretending we knew people and hadn’t seen them in years. How funny is the look on someones face when they feel guilty for not remembering you but at the same time are trying to pretend they do?? haha priceless!

After a great night I decided to treat myself to some breakfast room service BUT the hotel forgot to collect my door hanger thing. I was soooo disappointed and had to ring reception to send up the breakfast we had ordered in the first place.

All in all Sligo was ok. The hotel let me down big time but in fairness the room was huge and the hotel was very well kept. Sligo’s nightlife is definitely worth checking out too as I easily had one of the best nights out there so far this year.

By the way I’m back 😉
